My journey to Mexico begins TOMORROW!
I am extremely excited but equally nervous at the same time. I’ll be traveling from Kentucky, with pitstops in Chicago and Dallas, to arrive in Monterrey, Mexico. From there, I’ll be traveling to Guadalajara and Veracruz over the course of the next month and a half! I’m super nervous to put all the Spanish I’ve learned to a test but I know I am going to have awesome people by my side to help me along the way.
Things My Family Tells Me About Mexico (Where They’ve Never Been):
- Don’t drink the water!!
- Aren’t you going to live in a hut?
- You’re going to eat the food and die.
- Don’t fall in love with Javier!
- Don’t get yourself sold into prostitution with the drug cartel.
- Bring us back tequila!
As you can see, my family isn’t quite sure what’s going to be going on in Mexico and I hope my experiences qualm their fears about this exciting nation. I can’t wait to see what experiences are in store and I hope to chronicle them here on my blog. If time permits (and I have a solid wifi connection), I will be posting as usual as well as providing updates (and photos!) of my trip.
