This past weekend, my first back in school, I was off again on an adventure. (Sometimes I just can’t help myself!) This time, I was headed to Bowling Green to see the love of my life and to NASHVILLE to see my Kentucky Wildcats play the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. Although my kitties got their butt kicked, 35-26, it was an amazing weekend!
Friday night, I had to opportunity to meet 33 new pledges in my boyfriend’s fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon. It was so nice to see new young men joining this wonderful organization. Saturday morning, we piled up in the car to head to Nashville for the tailgate. It only took us THREE HOURS to get from Bowling Green to Nashville because of the insane traffic. When we finally did arrive, the tailgate was incredibly fun and it was great to see so many of my friends from WKU. After awhile, however, it started to feel like I never left Lexington with how many UK students I saw that traveled to Nashville for the tailgate and the game.
Sunday was a relaxing day of homework and good food. That evening, I got to spend some last minute quality time with my boyfriend and his closest friends. It was an amazing Labor Day weekend and I was so sad to make the three hour trek back to Lexington and back to reality yesterday! Leaving Cory and not knowing when I’m going to see him next is so unbelievably difficult — power to all the couples working through long distance relationships.
As for now, I’m back on the grind, working away in the library. With work this morning and class all afternoon, who knows when I’ll get that time to relax again!
ALSO: BIG NEWS! I have a new blog site that was started for a class I am taking this semester. This blog (hopefully) will focus on what it means to be a bilingual individual (primarily Spanish/English) and the implications associated with this community in our society today.
