In my spare time, I’m definitely a Buzzfeed addict. There’s something absolutely charming about perusing lists of things that were SO cool a decade ago and things that your younger sibling or future children (yikes) will never understand. Today, one of my best friends shared with me a link on Elite Daily, a site I had never used before. The link contained, my favorite, a list of 100 things every 20-something should know. Even though I just joined the 20-something club, I found this list to be thoroughly entertaining and somewhat depressing. Maybe I enjoyed it because I’m a natural cynic and am pretty critical of those around me, but I definitely think many of the inclusions are relevant to college students my age and just beyond. When I was sick today, this definitely put a smile on my face. It’s the same way I secretly indulge to Taylor Swift’s 22 because there’s just something so embarrassingly comforting about that dang song. There’s a lot of growing up I still have left to do so this list may be more applicable a decade from now, or it may not. Who knows? Nonetheless, I enjoyed it today while strolling through campus. Below, I’ve listed a few of my favorite points from the list. Read the entire article here.
#1. You need a minimum of an hour to get ready before work or class.
#14. Nothing good happens after 3 am.
#29. Being in a relationship is not a reason to let yourself go.
#35. We all like the chase.
#47. The world works, in large part, by manipulation.
#62. Time itself is an illusion. Always think: “I’ll be there before I know it.” And you’ll prove yourself right each time.
#65. Lower your expectations and you won’t be so disappointed.
#77. There is no substitute for face-to-face human interaction.
#84. Don’t drink cheap liquor.
#89. You don’t have ADD.
#94. You are alone in this life. Accept that and appreciate the moments when you don’t feel so alone.
