Let’s just say this weekend was one for the books. Red, White & Boom 2015 was this past weekend in Lexington, Kentucky and it sure was a good time. A music festival of sorts, RWB is a two-day event full of country music’s upcoming artists, (usually) good weather, food and drinks, and people loving America. Although many people (myself included) were slightly disappointed at the lineup this year in comparison to last year, the show was really good and worth the $25 I spent on my ticket. The four major acts that took the stage Friday and Saturday night were Eric Paslay, Phil Vassar, Kelsea Ballerini, and Chris Young. Although I had seen 3 of the 4 perform in the past, the atmosphere of the stadium and being outdoors definitely makes it fun. Hearing Kelsea sing Dibs and Chris sing I’m Coming Over were worth it in and of itself.
For the first time, I had a space big enough to accommodate my friends, so I had some of my best friends come down from across the state to stay with me and go to the shows! The weather was a little rough Friday — rain off and on, but it made for a fun and interesting night as everyone and their mother looked kind of like wet dogs. On Saturday, the weather was absolutely perfect! Low 70s and sun made for an enjoyable evening and dancing and singing with some of the best friends around. I can’t wait to be that girl again who buys tickets from the pre-sale a year in advance again because it’s one of my favorite weekends of the year!
My outfits this week were, of course, inspired by America! Tops from Forever 21 and Charming Charlie (see this post) with casual shorts from Old Navy and American Eagle. Accessories from Forever 21 and Walmart tie in the Fourth of July theme — and can’t forget my (kids) boots from Target that I got for just $30! All in all, my outfits were perfect for the weather and comfortable (and modest) enough to dance around in!
