I had an awesome weekend in Louisville, Kentucky, especially my full day at the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass. The outlets have some of my favorite stores — not to mention some pretty amazing deals. On top of factory pricing, many stores feature between 40-70% off sales, and many even let you take an extra 10% for showing your student ID. Some of my favorite stores I hit up this weekend were:
- Loft
- J Crew
- Ann Taylor
- Gap
- American Eagle
- Old Navy
- Francesca’s
- Yankee Candle (Does this make me old?)
I’m not one for big shopping trips, but I can hardly count this considering everything I purchased was totally in my monthly shopping budget, and was overall priced at 60% off original prices! Not too shabby. My personal favorite finds besides staples I’ve been on the hunt for like new jeans and a chunky pearl necklace (been borrowing my sweet roomie’s) were an adorable mint green tank from Gap for just $3 and a romper from Old Navy that rounded out at just over $15. Outlet stores really are the way to go, especially if you live close! While I’m a big fan of secondhand, new clothes are just as fun! Don’t forget — Never buy just because the price is right. Ask yourself:
- Is this piece part of a temporary fad?
- How does it fit into my overall budget?
- Can I wear this piece throughout the whole year?
- Is this office, vacation, business, dinner, etc appropriate?
- Visualize at least 3 specific outfits you can form around this piece to ensure you’ll wear it again!
