I grew up in Lexington, Kentucky. The older I get, as I still reside in the city of my youth, I realized that I’ve started to look past familiar landmarks. You know that feeling when you’re running on autopilot and stop to look at what’s changing around you? Fayette Mall was in my backyard growing up, and I’ve spent the last decade driving past to and from class and work. I’m thrilled to say Fayette Mall’s remodel and rebranding of a shopping and dining experience in a mall setting to #MakeItYours certainly aims to please. I was privileged enough to spend a full day at the mall getting to experience all the new shops, meeting store managers, eating delicious treats, and fleshing out my fall wardrobe. Follow me through my day to see my top picks for Fall with Fayette Mall.
I started my day with a complete makeover at Sephora. It’s not secret that I’m a beauty novice. There’s not much I appreciate more than a patient sales associate who is both welcoming and knowledgeable and offers me real advice as to my beauty buys. I was elated to work with Sarah during my visit to create a fun, glowing makeup look that pushed me way out of my comfort zone with peach tones on my eyes and neutral lips. I snatched up the wine-colored NARS lipstick shown below and an amazing brow definer that allows me to continue avoiding waxing or microblading.
Fall Fashion Favorites
Next, I stopped in bevello for the first time. I am so drawn to accessories tables lately and bevello’s didn’t disappoint. I love the soft tassels with gold details shown below in the bright pinks and golds. I picked up last year’s velvet trend reinvented in a soft jumpsuit for Fall. The floral kimono is a completely versatile piece that transitions so well between seasons with the warm + cool color palette. Wandering through the mall’s renovated middle wing, I made stops in both Altar’d State and Entwine. I LOVE that more local names are showing up in spaces conventionally reserved for big labels. Brands such as Entwine tie Fayette Mall back into Lexington’s increasing desire to elevate local business. Not only was I blown away by the gift selection in both of these shops, I walked away with several versatile pieces that channel a retro 70s vibe including embroidered denim, flare legs, bold color combinations, and gold accessories.
Good Eats
After a morning of shopping, I was so happy to sit down for lunch at one of my favorite restaurants, Saul Good Pub. A local restaurant that strives to include Kentucky products, I – of course – ordered the West Sixth Steak and Beer Cheese Nachos and the Saul Meat Pizza. I topped off lunch with coffee-flavored ice scream at Sweet Lily’s, a locally owned creamery tucked inside the mall that is decorated with bright pink and lime green paint and a touch of Kentucky pride. The napkin holder next to me says it all; Fayette Mall is truly committed to bringing a local feel to a large mall setting that celebrates Kentucky Proud vendors!
When I wrapped up my day at the mall, I couldn’t wait to come home and style the pieces I purchased including the below flare chambray pants from Altar’d State, the blush look complete with a leather jacket and faded, distressed denim from Entwine, and jeweled choker + the perfect game day tunic from Allsports– another local retailer! Ultimately, I was impressed. Not only is Fayette Mall striving to cater to Kentucky’s ever-changing shopping and dining experiences with pop-up shops and FREE valet parking, the space is truly becoming a home for local personalities to shine. I’m so grateful for my experiences with the Mall and retailers and can’t wait to wear all of my new outfits. Which is your favorite?
