Alrighty, this blog post has been one of the easiest to write in a long time because I am so stinking excited about the topic. Not only am I able to share a little part of my life that I don’t talk about often online, I get to work with a brand that has been a household name for me since childhood. What are we covering? Video games.
That’s right, I said it. I’ve definitely had a love/hate relationship with games and consoles since I was younger. Whether it was fighting over a controller as a kid with my brother, writing a Psychology paper in college about virtual reality development, or watching my boyfriend play endless hours of Call of Duty – video games have always been a part of my life.
In adulthood, I never imagined video games to be such a fun and integral part of my leisure time, but they totally are! Cue my newest obsession: the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition. Thanks to the team at Xbox, I was sent this new console to check out at home. It did not disappoint. With much of the same functionality as we’re accustomed to, we didn’t waste any time putting this new toy to use. My boyfriend and I play a range of games at home together including Forza (my personal favorite), PUBG, Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, Halo, and more.
On a date night at home, we can keep it pretty simple. With a little good bourbon, Mexican takeout, and our pup by our sides, the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition lets us have a relaxed night in while still doing something fun and engaging that is more involved than Netflix binging. My hands-down favorite date night game is You Don’t Know Jack – I’m a sucker for trivia and I might be pretty good at it… The game lets you connect via a smartphone, so multiple players can join in to play in a party setting. Perfect for a crew or just the two of us!
Video games can get a bad rap, but the tech nerd in me comes out when I think about how much they have evolved in my lifetime. Not only are the graphics substantially improved, the storylines and character development opportunities have been expanded as well. More than ever, the gaming community is becoming increasingly inclusive and we’re even seeing strides to make it a nationally recognized collegiate sport. Moreover, the space saver, environmentally-conscious soul in me is rejoicing over the disc-less console. No more storing boxes of game sleeves and wasting tons of plastic!
Now to get to the goods: how you can join in on the fun. From 6/7-6/22, the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition console will be on sale as part of the Xbox E3 sale – you can save an additional $50 and purchase for $199. The new system can be purchased at Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, and Microsoft Stores.
The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition Bundle includes:
