Back to school season is here, although I’m not headed into the classroom this Fall, working on a college campus gets me motivated to organize my life. The easiest way I’ve found to do so is paring down. When it comes to things I really need, not much makes the list. A back-to-work checklist for a new semester might look like the following:
- Reusable water bottle
- A pack of my favorite pens
- A new laptop charger – one without puppy teeth marks
- A desktop calendar
- Boxes of emergency pads and tampons for my desk drawer
I’m a cautious kind of person, and never like to feel unprepared. Still, it seems, at the most inopportune times, I start my period and don’t have what I need on hand. Too few people in my workplace will actually talk about periods outright – so asking coworkers for support is usually out of the question. If you’ve found yourself in the feminine care aisle lately, you’ve seen the dozens of choices and brands vying for your attention. The bright colors, the promise of performance, and the varying shapes and sizes can be overwhelming.
I’m grateful to have been recently introduced to just. – the drama-free period brand. Here’s the rundown of what you need to know:
- just. tampons are designed with a 100% cotton core.
- No dyes, fragrances or chlorine bleaching – ever.
- Comes with a plastic applicator to make things easier.
just. prides themselves on a product without bells and whistles that *just* works. No need for the fuss – there are plenty of other reasons to stress out each month. If you need a reason to like them more, just. has partnered with Active Minds, the nation’s premier non-profit organization supporting mental health awareness and education for young adults. Through its presence on more than 600 college and high school campuses, Active Minds provides programs and services to empower students to reduce the stigma around mental health. The organization is dedicated to supporting a new generation in preventing suicides and changing the conversation about mental health. No fuss AND an important mission? I’m sold. See if Active Minds is coming to a campus near you here.
Periods are hard enough to manage on their own without complicated decisions. When back to school shopping comes around, make the easy choice to simplify your life and period care.
